Transition is the story of two young women, Jill Kendal and Sunshine O’Malley, who happen to be the best women long-distance triathletes in the world. Against the constant backdrop of the triathlon, they’re thrown together by a seemingly interminable series of adversities, including relentless terrorists, sinister townspeople, and a deadly house fire. Weaker people would have been driven to their knees. But to survive, Jill and Sunshine are going to have to figure out how to land on their feet.

Jill, the spoiled daughter of a Texas oil tycoon, is the reigning Olympic marathon champion. Sunshine, who lives on a commune dominated by a mysterious guru, doesn’t believe in competition. To a casual observer, Jill and Sunshine appear to have nothing in common. But when events conspire to intertwine their fates, they’re going to have to depend on each other to an extent that neither of them could possibly have imagined.

About the Author: Henry Charles Mishkoff has completed a pair of sprint-distance triathlons. (He claims that he would have competed in longer triathlons if his knees hadn’t given out.) Mishkoff is the author of several technical books, as well as Dream Girl, a collection of short stories that is due to be re-released by Deerfield Addison Books later this spring. Transition is his first novel.
